Another weekend, another PashbyMaul adventure at Le Pignole. Today we introduced two friends to the horseback riding, wine and pizza tasting adventure. A beautiful warm spring day in the Colli Berici, we couldn’t have asked for more perfect conditions for the experience.

We previously focused on the horseback riding, which again was the highlight of the entire day. However today we especially appreciated the wines, and even ended up taking home a mixed case of our favorite local variety Tai Rosso Colli Berici.

Our high-end pick for the day is the outstanding Torengo, 100% Tai rosso from the hillside vineyard. Matured nine months in oak barrels and four months in the bottle, this particular tai rosso stands apart from all others.

A little less refined, but nonetheless delicious, is the Creorosso, also 100% Tai rosso, is the little brother to Torengo. Not quite as mature, but the perfect accompaniment to pizza, cheese, fish, or just about anything.

These two wines are just a sampling of nine we sampled this afternoon at Le Pignole’s amazing wine tasting experience. No where else can you experience the trifecta of horseback riding through the hills and vineyards, tasting of nine unique wines, and a pizza prepared to perfectly accompany each.

So far Le Pignole is unique among destinations reviewed by PashbyMaul adventures, because we’ve featured them twice now! Safe to say we are certain there will be even more instalments of PashbyMaul Le Pignole adventures in the future, and be sure they will be featured here.
